Christmas 2021 was filled with lots of cheer! It all started with the magical ‘present-drop’ by Rudolph and his big boss Santa. This was almost immediately met with a mini-meltdown as it eventually dawned on the girls that in Santas task of his overnight job, that he forgot to bring the make-up set, the blue shoes, the pink shoes, the red dress, the i-pad and….

After a few minutes of relaxation, the presents were forgotten (temporarily) and the attention turned to the empty plate and crumbs that where visibly met with the satisfaction that the milk, cookies and carrots were consumed by none other than the hard-working Santa and his Reindeers who were so kind to give out so many presents in such a short space of time (I love this part of Christmas). Gratitude then sets in.. aahh, perfect!

We later ventured out with friends head-first out into the bitter frost of the windy city that had surprised us with a sprinkle of snow (quite literally- you could have mistaken it for dandruff!) which was welcomed with almost euphoric disbelief by adults and kids-alike since it was not forecast.

We were quickly warmed up by friendly chatter and a good ol’ Christmas turkey with everything the Ritz Hotel had to offer.

We galloped with full bellies to the nearby Disney store as celebratory merriment resulted in more presents being purchased before Daddy gave in brought the makeup set that Santa accidently forgot to deliver.

No chance this year to travel to London, but nevertheless, Christmas still remained a few octaves above satisfaction but undoubtedly it was no substitute for family comforts or being surrounded non-stop tales, absolute gluttony, late night drop-ins and early morning nodding off’s!

Glad that Christmas 2021 is done!
